A new, incredible registration record for the Stoiximan.gr 12th International Marathon “Alexander the Great” was achieved on Friday (10/03) at midnight. On Sunday, April 2nd, it is expected that the roads of Thessaloniki will be filled with 21.228 runners of all ages, participants in the greatest athletic event of the year of Northern Greece.

In detail, there will be 2.184 Marathon runners, 4.794 participants at the 10.000m Health & Power Walking Race, 12.250 runners at the 5.000m Health & Power Walking Race, as well as 2.000 registered students (ages 9-12) at the 1.000m Race of Primary School Students.

1500 runners, who will acquire one of the spare bib numbers distributed at the Registration Center at the Pavilion 13 of TIF-HELEXPO from Thursday, 30th of March, to Saturday, 1st of April, are already included in those numbers.
It should be clear that those who will register at the last minute will acquire the sport equipment provided, except for the sponsor’s T-shirt.

The Organizational Committee feels the need to express their gratitude to those who will support the race with their participation. After 12 years of experience in the field of International Marathons, the organizers, the Organizational and Technical Committee and the volunteers promise that they will do their best as to receive and support the participants in the greatest way possible.

The 12th International Marathon “ALEXANDER THE GREAT” is organized by M.E.A.S. TRITON, dedicated to the Greek Marathon runner Stelios Kiriakidis, under the aegis of Hellenic National Commission for UNESCO, Hellenic Athletics Federation and AIMS, and with the support of Hellenic Tourism Organization and Hellenic Athletics Federation of Thessaloniki. It is also supported by the Sub Ministry of Macedonia – Thrace, Precinct of Central Macedonia, the Municipalities of Thessaloniki, Pella, Ampelokipi – Menemeni, Chalkidona, Delta and Kordelio – Evosmos, as well as by many Institutional, Supporting and Volunteering Bodies.
