15th Int’l Marathon “Alexander The Great”- bwin to be held on Sunday, November 29th

The Organizing Committee of the 15^thInternational Marathon “Alexander The Great”– bwin, considering the extention of the government’s effective measures to prevent and limit the spread of Covid – 19 disease and accepting the relative proposal of the Technical Committee, announces a new date for the race on Sunday, November 29^th 2020.This was the alternative suggested date according to the written notification to SEGAS on 12^th of March, as well as the relevant notification of EOSLMAY.MEAS TRITON, in corporation with the Municipality of Thessaloniki and Institutional Supporters of the organization, unanimously accepted Technical’s Committee proposal.

Our efforts that already appear to show positive results, along with the consistent compliance with the recommendations and measures of the Ministry of Health, make us believe that we will soon get through this unique situation, which, like a Marathon race, requires patience, insistent effort and absolute commitment to our common goal.

The conduction of the “Marathon of History” on 29^th of November 2020 will give runners the required time for a comprehensive training according to the technical cooperators’ proposal. They will even have the opportunity to participate with fully racing preparation in the 9^th International Thessaloniki Night Halfmarathon– ZeniΘon Saturday, October 17^th 2020, in view of upcoming great Marathons of Greece, in Athens and Thessaloniki.

In the same time, the organizers continue the preparations in order the upcoming 15^th International Marathon “Alexander The Great”– bwin to meet everyone’s expectation and to give to the city, our country and mostly our participant runners the happiness that all of us need.

The group registration deadline is on 30^th of October 2020 and the individual registration deadline is on 4^th of November 2020.

The 15^th International Marathon “Alexander The Great”– bwin, which is dedicated to the Greek marathon runner Stelios Kyriakidis, is organized by MEAS TRIOTON with the institutional cooperation of the Municipality of Thessaloniki, under the aegis of Hellenic National Commission of UNESCO, Hellenic Olympic Committee and General Secretariat of Sports and constitute official member of AIMS. Furthermore, it is conducted with the kind support of the Greek National Tourism Organization, Thessaloniki Tourism Organization, SEGAS and EAS SEGAS. In the same time, it is supported by the Ministry of Interior (Macedonia-Thrace), the Region of Central Macedonia, the Municipalities of Pella,Ampelokipi – Menemeni, Chalkidona, Delta and Kordelio – Evosmos, as well as by lots of Institutional and Voluntary Bodies.
